The all new Ultegra 5500 XSD will immediatly catch the eye of the avid surf angler because of the major improvement in cosmetics. The extra spool in combination with the 4 line reducers gives the surf cast angler the opportunity to fish with different types of lines and respective line capacities according to the actual circumstances. Tightening the Instant drag until fully locked prevents any spool slip on the cast and a relatively small turn of the instant drag knob sets a sensitive drag making it suitable for the often light/thin lines used in surf cast competition fishing.
